HI,

I recently bought a home with a ge profile PFCS1RKZH SS refrigerator. It has french doors on the top, and a freezer drawer on the bottom. The Icemaker is in the upper refrigerator door, and there is a water/ice dispenser in the left french door.

The fridge was working fine, but then we moved it downstairs and now it is leaking... it is possible that something got knocked loose and/or damaged, as it was dropped down a flight of stairs. ( No visible damage, but did slide down the last few steps). Other than the stated issue, it works fine, makes ice, dispenses cold water, and all the other things it should normally do.

I've begun trouble shooting, and so please see the following details, which i will present chronologically, so that you can understand what i've toggled on/off and what might be the issue.

- The Fridge was hooked up to a waterline.
- I notice water on the floor seemingly coming/pooling from the front left corner.
- I inspect the new water line connection, it is dry and good.
- I pull the fridge out from the wall to see if there is water coming from anywhere underneath / inside the fridge... there is no wet spots
- I confirm that the water is actually dripping from the water/ice unit in the upper left... it is then running down the front left corner and pooling on the floor.

- The water volume is not tremendous, but is enough of a leak that i shut off the water line when i am not testing it. (maybe 12 ounces per hour), although i believe this is dependent on the ice/water that is being dispensed. Luckily i have put the firdge in an unfinished area of my basement.

So far i have been able to test the following scenarios:

- if i turn on the water line to the fridge. It leaks
- if i turn off the water line, it stops.

- if i turn OFF the switch to the icemaker, (Inside the icemaker compartment), and then turn on the water line...
- Now, it does not leak when i turn on the water line,
- Bext i I run water through the door dispenser to fill a 12 oz cup
- water leaks. i'm not yet sure where it is coming from, but it runs down the outside of the freezer drawer seal and pools around the front left leg.

- Next i will see if the leaking will stop once i stop running water through it... so far i believe it has. After this i will turn on the icemaker. My hunch is that it will leak again (as every time it fills the ice mold, it probably also leaks out.) Originally when it was leaking, it was properly making ice, and did fill up the ice cube reservoir.

I've got a hunch that it is something to do with a valve, but would love to get inputs from anyone who has experience with this line of GE fridges before i order parts.

I confirm that the water is actually dripping from the water/ice unit in the upper left... it is then running down the front left corner

Hi Rick, I’ve confirmed that it leaks when it makes ice and/or when you run water through the water dispenser. It dribbles down the rubber seal that runs vertically up the front left side of the freezer drawer. I’m still trying to get a pic of where it is actually coming from… but seems to be coming from the upper left door (which house is the ice maker and water dispenser) and drips down onto the freezer drawer like described here’s a pic

Check where the water line goes thru the bottom hinge.

I've confirmed the issue is near the bottom hinge of the left main fridge door, as Rick suggested. The right-most (inner most) tube housing is broken. However, i am unable to find this component or the correct drawing to determine which part i should re-order...

Here are some detailed pics of what i would describe as a broken coupling. I think the hose is fine and maybe i just need to replace the white coupling that goes around the hose and plugs into the body of the refrigerator. But wondering if it's a larger component / manifold in the housing that i would need to replace? Any advice on how to do this repair is appreciated!

Thanks Jake! Couple follow up questions tho...

1) #141 looks like it goes into the dispenser door. The tube on my model fits into the frame of the refrigerator. (Not saying you are incorrect, but just confirming that this looks to be the right component)

2) If #141 is the correct component, any thoughts on how to complete the repair? Do i just fit this around the water tube and push it in to the opening? (Do i need to remove anything first, possibly some of the old component that had broken off inside the frame?

3) Any other thoughts? It looks like if the component is not the right one, there is a return policy... so if that is next best action, i'll go ahead and give it a try. Thanks so much!

Those are good questions, but I don't know the answers as I have not replaced that part on this model as of yet.
