Hello. I just purchased a home with a GE Profile 2 drawer bottom freezer with water and ice in the left door. (Model PGSS5RKZASS, Serial SV 312...) The ice maker fills with water -but does not freeze. Eventually if dribbles into the tray under the door water dispenser. The ice compartment gets coldish - about 30 degrees per a cheap thermometer - but it must be just not quite enough to freeze. The freezer is set to 0 and is working fine. With the left frig door open, there is cold air being lightly blown from the bottom vent hole.

Is this probably the blower being weak or partially blocked somehow? or ???

thanks !

Top vent is air supply to ice room and the bottom vent is air return to freezer. When the air blows from the lower vent is usually means the ice room fan isn't working:

Rick - thank you so much!

I double checked, and there definitely is air lightly blowing out the bottom hole and in the upper hole. so this is good news to know the fan is the problem!

The ice room fan is accessed from inside the freezer compartment by removing the rear panel? Part 361 in the below diagram?

Do you generally see the motor itself going bad, or the electronics driving it?

I'll try to pull off the back panel and verify the fan is not blowing this evening.

again -thank you so much for your insight and help!

Six of one, half dozen of the other. Main board- J2-7 to J2-8 (13.6 VDC)
