Please help!

My GE Quality Product Spacemaker Laundry washer/dryer combo (the washer) has been making a high-pitch whirling noise right before the rinse cycle for about 10 seconds and then the noise stops. Then towards the end of the spin cycle it again makes the same noise for another 10 seconds and again stops after that. (to clarify the washer doesn't stop, but the noise does after 10 seconds. the machines continues to wash throughout)

Other than that, it works like a charm. Maybe there is something loose or worn out that needs to be replaced? I can't seem to find a way to "open" the washer to look inside either. Is there a service manual that you can share?

Please advise.
Thank you in advance.

Opened the washer and seem to find a few things

Hi Jeff,
I opened up the front of the washer and saw a few things.

1) There is this rubber type material that seem to have been shredded and is flung to the right side of the unit (Pic#1)
2) The idler pulley seems to have a bit of give to it. I can wiggle it up and down a bit (Pic#2) so not sure if that is normal or not. There is another pulley that under the motor to the right of the idler pulley that seems to not have any give (cannot wiggle at all).
3) There is also a picture of the belt (Pic#3).

Please advise.
Thanks again for your help!
Lana

Does the brand of belt matter?

Hi Jeff,
Just to confirm the Frigidaire belt that you recommended below (even though it is not GE brand) will work for our machine.

Thanks!

Yes, Frigidaire built the unit for GE.
