Hello, first time posting here! I have seen a lot of posts on here that mentioned some GE side-by-side refrigerators have an issue with frozen water dispenser line near the freezer. My refrigerator model number is PSS26MSWASS and I believe was purchased in 2006.

I had multiple issues with the water dispensing tube and after multiple replacements (water inlet valve, water tank assembly, and leaking tubing), I have pin pointed the issue to be along the tubing that goes up the freezer door and to the dispenser. Is there anyway for me to access this tubing? Is there anyway to tell whether the line is frozen or if there is a leak or some other issue? I removed a lot of the dispenser components, but am not able to access the tubing. I can't pull the tubing out either, from the dispenser area or the bottom of the freezer door.

Is there any hope for me or am I at a dead-end? Is the only option to replace the entire freezer door? Thank you in advance for any assistance and please let me know if I can answer any questions!

Yes, you'd need to replace the entire freezer door to get new water line tubing.

Unfortunately the freezer door is No Longer Available: Door Foam Asm Fz WR78X11977

Is there anyway to tell whether the line is frozen or if there is a leak or some other issue?
Unfortunately not, unless you use a heat gun or hair dryer on the exterior of the freezer door where the water line goes up to the dispenser, keep moving the heat gun or hair dryer up and down the exterior of the freezer door, to see if you can de-ice it.

Thank you @Jake for the quick response! That's too bad..is there a spot along the freezer door you would recommend I try using a hairdryer? I'm not too familiar with where the tubing typically travels along the freezer door. How long would I have to use the hairdryer for to notice some kind of difference (if the tubing is in fact frozen)?

Are there other GE freezer doors I can purchase that are compatible with my model or is my only other option to purchase a new refrigerator if I want the water dispenser working?

Thank you again and really appreciate the help!

Just follow where the water line goes up from the bottom of the freezer door to the water dispenser.

Yes, I know, there is not a diagram that shows the path it goes up, unfortunately.

For quite a long time. Ice is stubborn.

Not that I'm aware of.

Thank you again and really appreciate the help!
