GE gas stove model # JGBP24GEJ3
The oven burner lights off but only when the Oven Set control is in Bake mode and the Oven Temp control is in lowest temperature setting, the "Warm" mode. The Oven indicator light at the bottom of the Oven set control glows and the burner fires up runs OK.
As soon as Oven Temp control is moved from the warm position to any higher temperature setpoint, the gas valve drops out, the burner flame goes out and the Oven indicator light turns off.
Does the thermostat fail 'open' when the setpoint is above 'warm'? Other threads seem to indicate that the thermostat fails closed, driving temperature up to an un-controlled 600 Deg F.
Can the timer clock in anyway affect the control of the oven burner when the Oven Set control is always in 'Bake' mode?
It appears from the wiring diagram that when Oven Set is in Bake mode, the thermostat is the only set of 'permissive' contacts downstream of the Door lock switch and the timer.
