Hi all,

I was having trouble with drinks on the fresh food side of my refrigerator freezing. After looking at the damper, I found that a completely passive damper was installed, which is not standard for this refrigerator. (The part fit perfectly, but had no motorized damper. Just a little plastic cover that would let air into the fresh food area but not back out. Is this a usual thing to replace with?) I ordered the standard damper, which is part WR60X10215. When this came, I had to remove the wires for the light bulb assembly from the old Molex connector and move them to the new part. To do this, I had to order some pin removal keys, which finally arrived today. I was able to remove the wires, but forget where they go in the molex connector!

To make this more concrete, I need to know where the purple and red wires plug into the Molex connector in the below picture of a WR60X10215. Can anyone help? Thanks!

You can download it from Rick's post #23 here:

Here's the damper assembly for your model:

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for the link. The Mylar flap damper is what was installed previously. I checked through the other thread and I didn't see a PIN layout for the molex connector though. There are three open positions and two wires. I guess I could just try to measure voltage with my multimeter? The wires I need to connect are for the light bulb.

Ok, that's all the information I could find on it.

I can't locate your wiring diagram to assist in that PIN layout, sorry.

Most refrigerators come with wiring diagrams, check behind the front kickplate grille for it.

Here is the diagram they sent me. But there are no molex connectors with 9 sockets, so I'm not really sure how to interpret this. I guess I'll try to find the correct pins with my multimeter.

Yes, I agree with you, no molex connectors with 9 sockets. That's very odd indeed.
I guess I'll try to find the correct pins with my multimeter.
Yes, good idea.
