I purchased a house two years ago, and it had all new appliances. The refrigerator is only 2.5 years old. Recently, my fridge started to click every 2-5 minutes and stopped cooling.
I cleaned the condenser coils, and replaced the start relay and capacitor. When I first replaced just the start relay, and used the old capacitor it still did not work, I then ordered a new capacitor and replaced it.
The fridge has worked for a week since. Last night I started to hear the clicking noise again, but woke up this morning and it was still cold/frozen and no clicking noise. Will a fridge every once in a while have this clicking noise?
Or is this a sign that the compressor or something else is on the fritz? Everything I have read seems to point to the compressor overloading, and shutting off/starting up every 2-5 minutes. Its weird to me that it is still working now though? Any suggestions/thoughts?
