Hello, I bought my GE side by side 2nd hand from someone about 7 years ago and got it home to find out it wasn't cooling properly. I believe it's about 9 years. I had an appliance guy come out and installed a tap and put freon inside and never had anymore issues until about a month ago and I instantly started replacing everything I could. The fridge is holding good Temps and pretty consistent with accurate temp display. It also displays -9 on actual temperature for freezer. I replaced all 4 of the thermisters, defroster, timer, control board, lower fan near compressor and thoroughly cleaned coils.
When I replaced the board it seemed to have fixed it, but Temps would go below 0 and seemed fluctuate so much and then several days went by and then start staying within 12-20*. At that point I had not called the appliance guy and figured it would now need some freon. He came out and it almost instantly dropped freezer Temps. But still said -9 on freezer. I unplugged it for 5min. Before I went to bed and then it said temp was at 0*. Woke up and Temps were up to 20. I then found a video to run diagnostics and found the thermister testing. Come to find out it isn't registering the freezer thermister #3. I tried swapping it for 1 in fridge and nothing. I even turned it on with wire nuts on it and still isn't registering. I even changed back to the old board. -9 so it looks like all these parts may have still been good. I'm assuming the thermister not being able to be read is causing this issue as it doesn't know what the freezer Temps are and my fan is constantly running inside my freezer.
Any suggestions and sorry for the long post, I'm super frustrated and have spent about $500 in parts and service call in the last month.I posted a photo of parts replaced this month and Thermister locations #'s were from diagnostic mode on display.

Any reccomendations on this would be appreciated.

Next step for me is trying to test thermister at panel today and then see potentially run a wire around the side with the thermister taped to the inside front of freezer. See if this fixes it. Then at that point i have a bad wire somewhere between thermister and panel. Not sure if I can replace any of this actual wire. I seriously doubt it's possible. Also not sure if I can drill a hole through this unit and effectively seal it up properly.

Have you ohm tested the freezer thermistor? It should also read about 16.3k ohms at 32 degrees.

All the thermistors on this model use the exact same part number:
Thermistor WR55X10025
