We have a GE wall oven that is having some issues. From what I could find I'm assuming this model is from the 1980's. The serial number is LR648735 G.

We moved into our home about two years ago and this is the original oven that came with the house. We have not had any issues (besides occasional temp inconsistencies) until now. The oven was being used to bake a meal and the original heating element caught on fire. See first image below. We found a replacement part on Amazon labeled GE Appliance Part WB44X200. After installation both heating elements do not warm and the preheat light no longer turns on. The oven light on the inside does turn on and the "Oven Set" light still turns on. We tried reinstalling the new heating element and the same outcome occurred. Below are more images of the oven.

We want to keep this oven around so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The model number is usually the key to identifying appliances. The forum input form should have ask for it.

When the element blew it might have tripped one of the two breakers in the house breaker panel for the oven. Try resetting them (whether it looks tripped or not). If that doesn't correct the condition someone will need to confirm the full 240 volts is getting to the appliance. (All element operate on 240 volts whereas lights and other things only need 120 volts.)

My bad, when we first started this forum back in 2004, I never thought how many folks would be posting their older appliances here in this forum, so I never made the Model number input box in this forum, I did just now.:)

The model number is JRP03G007BG, I will manually insert it in the first post.:)

No worries Dan, I'm glad you mentioned it, since I was able to do it now, and since we are getting more folks in this forum.:)
