Hello friends,
GE model GLWN5550D0WW no longer spins, removing front panel and see the motor/tub stutter every couple seconds as the motor attempts to turn. just running the drain&spin cycle noticed it giving the 6 red flashes fault. Disconnecting the belt from the motor and pulley, retry and the motor appears to run fine with no load. the pulley spins with no resistance - but the shifter is always engaged on the pulley so it moves a few degrees before turning the basket.
Even with the shifter engaged on the pulley it spins easily in both directions, but when everything is hooked back up same 6 light fault after resetting the lid.
When trying to run a normal cycle i am not hearing or seeing the shifter move up and down to engage/disengage from the pulley, but it still gives the 6 light fault. I have a new motor on the way - but the more I think about this, leaning towards the shifter assembly replacement.
Checked resistance across the C7 and getting resistance ( thought i read it should be 70-95 Ohms), but it is never actually moving. Is there a way to manually actuate this shifter to verify operation? Or would i be getting a different fault if the shifter was bad. Any help appreciated!
