So it started with no power on this top washer because something on the board had blown and had black stuff all over the board so I replaced the board and programmed it per instructions and now when I go to do a wash cycle it fills like it’s supposed to then goes to wash and will start to agitate for like less then 5 seconds then goes back to fill and keeps filling and doesn’t stop.

I put it in test mode and when I test spin it spins for a couple seconds then just stops but it shows no fault codes and when I test agitate it does nothing. I’ve looked all over for any insight into what the issue could be so if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.

Yes that’s the part number. They originally sent me the wrong one all the plugs lined up so I didn’t realize at first until after I set the personality ID and the led lights didn’t match the settings on the dial but then I got the correct board and the led lights light up correctly on each dial setting but like I said it works like it’s supposed to until it changes from fill to wash and it doesn’t lock and only agitates for a few seconds before switching back to fill and so I thought it might’ve been the locking mechanism but when I put it in field service mode and test spin it locks and then starts to spin for a few second then stops and does nothing.

Ok, now what you need to do is make sure NO WATER is in the tub, then put it on a DRAIN/SPIN cycle and let it run all the way through, then remove the water level pressure switch hose from the control board and blow through it hard.

Then reconnect that hose back onto the control board and see if it starts working fine.

Okay I’ll try that. I have put it on drain and spin before and it’ll drain but it doesn’t lock and it doesn’t ever spin so just let it sit there until the LED light goes off?

I work at a brand new apartment complex and so it was a new move ins washer and it didn’t work first time they tried it but the construction guys should’ve tested it when they put the washer in but anyways.

I’ve read some about them having mode shifters or something so you think that could be the issue? Also when I tried doing what you suggested with the drain and spin this time it locked and started to spin for like 2 seconds then stopped and just sat there

It could be the speed sensor.

Here's your service manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FiXXV68WvPZ4ukyUXtY7PGIV2C8bpVkK/view?usp=sharing

It shows you how to test it on page 62.

I read what it said in that service manual and it definitely seems like that’s what it could be but it says in test mode “a locked rotor fault will be set” but I don’t read any faults in test mode. Also this is sorta random but since I was down here looking at the speed sensor I’d figure I’d take off the pulleys and just check everything but the transmission pulley does not come off no matter how hard I pull. The motor pulley just slid off and looking at that manual it seems like the transmission pulley should just slide off just as easy but it doesn’t. Is there a special way to get it off or what?

Page 62 of the service manual explains how both the transmission and motor pulleys come off, that's all they say. I have not needed to pull the transmission pulley off on these GE models as of yet, so I can't explain further if its stuck in place.

The service manual says both should slide off after the nuts are removed. You may need to force the transmission pulley off.

Yeah that service manual is a huge help, thank you for that. I guess the pulley is just stuck because I put significant pressure pulling it and it didn’t budge. But I ordered the speed sensor and I’m hoping that’s what it is even though it doesn’t give a fault code but for 15 bucks its worth a try. Thanks for all the help I really I appreciate it. I’ll let you know if it was the speed sensor or not.

Did you test it first per the service manual with your multimeter?
