I can run diagnostic mode test 12 to run the drain pump, which seems to do fine, emptying all the water I can see. Test 14 also runs, in which it spins up the drum (to spin out the water). It gets going nice and fast.
But in all regular wash cycles, it works properly through all the previous stages, the drain pump empties the drum, then seems to sit there and pump forever without ever triggering the spin.
I get fault codes 16 & 18 about "Adaptive Drain/Slow Drain" and "Drain Pump Clearing Algorithm failed." But some of the Repair Actions for that seem to be based on no voltage to the pump/pump motor, which doesn't make sense if it can empty MOST of the water.

What are the most likely things that might have failed for this washer that has been working fine for years but now won't spin at the end?

Ok, sounds like the control board is malfunctioning, but also check the tub pressure chamber port flash.
Here's that service bulletin on it, in post #2 here:

Here's our main thread on the control board issue:

Here's the main control board for your model:

Actually, it looks like it was the "Put a 1/16" drill bit to clean out the plastic flashing in the hose return port" problem.
