I have a GE Washer WBSR3140G2WW. Recently it got off balance and literally jumped around. Every since then, about 90% of the time, the spin cycle does not ring clothes out nor dispense the fabric softener from the top resevoir. I will then have to run the rinse/spin cycle again and that will usually dispense the softener and ring clothes out.
Any suggestions? If more info is needed please let me know.
Thank you!

I just opened the front of the washer, and water is still standing in the bottom of the tub. So I believe it is not draining properly.

Hi,

I'd first check your drain pump for something stuck/jammed in it.

Jeff has a good detailed page here to take the front off to access the drain pump:
http://www.applianceaid.com/genew.html#new_access
The drain pump is on the front right side after you remove the front access panel.

If nothing is stuck in it, its likely the drain pump itself thats bad.

Here's the drain pump for your model:

Thanks for the advise Jake. I checked the drain pump and all the drain pipes and they are all clear. I have ran the washer a few times with the front open and surprisingly haven't had the issue. So it could be the pump periodicially going out. I also observed that the drain pipe exiting the pump appears to have been smashed. As I watched it water seemed to drain out fine, but didn't know if that might be the issue. Maybe when the washer got off balance the tub slammed against the drain pipe.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes Jeff, that sounds like what happened.

Just keep your eye on it for a week or two and see how it does.

Jake,
Still somewhat hit and miss if the fabric softner dispenses and the clothes get spun out. But, now I am concerned if the agitator is even working. I opened the lid and magnetized the sensor and watched the wash process. From beginning to end, the clothes I put on top stayed. Should the agitator spin and mix up the clothes? The tub itself only did maybe 1/4 turns back and forth. So to me, it basically seems like I am just rinsing my clothes.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

Ok, I found a video of a GE washer same as yours.

Watch it and tell me if yours is doing the same when its agitating:

Jake,
I think it is hit and miss with mine. I watched it 3 times and it was agitating each time. By chance does the lid have anything to do with the washer engaging properly? When my problems starting, a plastic piece broke where the lid hinges open and close. I didn't figure that was a big deal, only to eliminate some slop when moving the lid. Other than that, I am starting to run out of guesses to why it works sometimes and sometimes not.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jake,

I think this was it. I ordered the hinge bushing and it seems to be running normal. I appreciate all your help on my problem!
Thanks,
Jeff
