GE washer - rattling/banging noise at start of wash and at end of spin

Good evening! I was hoping some experts here would be able to give their opinion on how normal this is. I have a GE washer/dryer combo (laundry center) that is 2 years old and has been used 60 times maximum.

As soon as I press the start button and the motor starts, in the first 30 seconds, there is a loud rattling noise (this is what you hear in the attached video). Through the agitation and rinse everything seems normal. At the start of the spin cycle everyone also seems normal, but at the end of the spin cycle, there is the same rattling sound accompanied by shaking. The repair man said the legs were unlevelled, but that clearly was not the reason since the problem persists after he levelled them.

The attached video shows the first 30 seconds of a DELICATE wash (this is when the washer is first turned on and before it starts filling with water)… is this a common thing and is it safe to leave it like this? I could not find anything on the web about this happening at the start of a wash cycle

Recheck your model number please, read it from the model number tag on the machine.

Hi Jake, thank you for the response. I’ve attached a photo with the model # - It’s a laundry centre with an infuser and looks identical to the model you indicated (GUD27EESN0WW) based on photos on the internet

Ok, then this is a Canadian GE model only, and unfortunately, GE Canada doesn't provide any TECH information online for these.

You will likely need to have GE Canada come out at 1-800-561-3344 to see what's going on.
