GE washer won't stop filling up. Overflows.

I opened the back panel and saw the tube going from the S-M-L dial to somewhere down behind the tub. I disconnected the top end of the tube and was able to blow air through it (though not as clear as a straw). I poured some vinegar in also and let it set. I have been unable to find any blockage in the tube that I can see and a wire slipped down the tube shows no deposits at the end.

So I'm thinking the Small-Medium-Large load dial itself. I lightly blow into the opening where the tube connects and the diaphram or whatever in there seems to click just fine.

Still, the washer only intermittently stops at the level it is supposed to rather than running all over the floor.

Can you help? I need a hero here. Thanks in advance!

Do you have to stop the machine or turn off the water to get it to stop overfilling?

OK, it sounds like you're correct, the pressure switch is probably faulty. Here's the one you need:
