Good Afternoon from the UK.

I have just started a complete rebuild of my 1952 GEC fridge. Advice, please on the compressor motor. Trying to decide whether to cut the top off and go through the whole thing - or not! Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model, please? Particularly mains to relay and relay to the three compressor connections? The Fridge Serial No. is 7525S7 and it is stamped DE 52 (presumable Dec 1952?). It is 250 v. I cannot find a model no. It is 2/3rd fridge and 1/3 motor etc underneath with a kick panel. How do I check which connection is which on the Compressor Motor, please - I can see no markings?

Is GEC any connection with GE, please?

Does anyone know an engineer in the UK who could help me, please?

Many thanks for any help offered.

Best wishes,

Buryan (aka Kenneth!).

URGENT - FORGOT TO ASK - does anyone know, please, who can supply me with a new door seal, please for my GEC - DE52 (date or model number??).

ALSO, I have broken the right-hand plastic door strip sealing the internal fridge box - anyone with a salvaged set, please, or does anyone know someone who can cast me one?

Many thanks,
Kenneth.
