My GE GFAN1000L3WW front load washer stopped working after a cracking sound. It turned out that one of the slots on the drum that connects the shock absorber broke and the shock absorber disconnected.
Now it will not agitate/spin. When a washing/sping cycle starts, It will try to turn the drum a tiny bit (less than half a circle) and the drain pump will keep working for a few minutes and then the door will be unlocked.
I entered the test mode, and the error code shown is E54 Inverter Lose Connection (Check for loose connections between the control board and inverter. If you do not find one replace the inverter.). I'm not sure if E54 is caused by the broken suspension or if it's something else that I need to worry about.
Please see the photo of the damaged slot. Is it still repairable? Thanks a lot!
