I have a GFDR480EF. The screen lights but the drum does not move. The codes are 001 and 004 which appears to be a thermistor. ?It asks me to run some algorithm but I cannot find it in the service part of the manual. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

I am not familier with this dryer...but I found...

GFDR480EF
Model# is missing some digits, I found...

GFDR480EF0WW & GFDR480EF1WW

The codes are 001 and 004 which appears to be a thermistor
001 The inlet thermistor (temperature sensor) is defective.
The inlet thermistor on the side of the inlet air duct inside the dryer measures the temperature of heated air entering the dryer drum. Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wires on the inlet thermistor. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wires are okay, replace the inlet thermistor.

004 The outlet thermistor (temperature sensor) is defective.
The outlet thermistor on the blower housing behind the fan measures the temperature of heated air leaving the dryer drum. Unplug the dryer and reconnect any loose wires on the outlet thermistor. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wires are okay, replace the outlet thermistor.

The screen lights but the drum does not move
No noises at all?
Door switch been checked?
Proper power to the dryer been checked?

No the drum does not move. The display counts down like it is drying. Wouldn't the display say "door open" if it was bad? Didn't check proper power but I did plug the washer into it and it works fine.

Did you find the full model#?

Wouldn't the display say "door open" if it was bad?
Wire to the door switch might be loose or bad but the door switch is still closed.

The display counts down like it is drying
I'd also check the drum belt then, make sure it is not broken or off.

Didn't check proper power but I did plug the washer into it and it works fine.
The washer shouldn't fit into the large electric dryer plug.

I'm starting to think its the belt. Easy job? I just spun a different dryer by hand and it seems much tighter. Do you have to replace the safety switch that cuts power when the belt breaks?
