I've just fixed the fridge not cooling due to evap fan failure:

So, I have the GE fridge and it has been working well for years. Now, from time to time the fridge temperature gets warm, while freezer remains frozen. With temperature data logger, you can see how it varies (when set to 34). Sometimes for days on end temperature rises and remains above safe...

But because I'm continuing to monitor the fridge, I'm disappointed that it's not cooling to the right temperature.

The issue, as can be seen, is that the fridge continuously cooling down to 37 degrees F, meanwhile it is set to 34 degrees.

Unfortunately, my model does not seem to show real-time temperature reading. I can get to raw sensor data within diagnostic mode but have no formula to convert it.

Any advice is really appreciated.

That is odd, you have a huge spike up between 1:00 am 2:30 am

It would be good to know if the compressor and fans were all running during that spike up, or if the refrigerator was dead silent.

My thoughts were that it was undergoing a derfreeze cycle, though I have no idea how that looks like. Idea of audio recording is a good one. I’ll see if I can set something up and correlate the audio with abnormal event(s).
If there any good / affordable way to monitor refrigerator state via communications bus? Is the protocol documented anywhere?

Normal defrost cycle is between 20 to 40 minutes, so that wouldn't be it.

Well, I caught the some oddity red handed; didn’t even need to setup continuous recorder.
Seems that the new evap fan was catching on something. I confirmed it with test 47; but despite the noise the test showed RPM reading.
Fixed it by taking out veg tray and pushing on the area where evap fan is located; will have to disassemble it next time I have a chance to make sure there is no clear obstruction.
Temperature reading showed a spike around the same time and nothing since; perhaps the problem is fixed, I’ll continue to monitor.

This seem to be the cause of the spikes, but temperature still appears to be above setpoint, at least overnight since the fix last evening.
Thank you Jake for helping me realize that the spikes were not normal. Hopefully the issue is fixed.
