After this washer was delivered I realized it is without a drum light. I now realize that some of the models above this have the light installed. After looking closer, it appears the units use the same blue rubber seal on the interior of the drum as mine does have the space where a light would be installed. After looking online and watching some videos on how to replace the light, it appears it's just a male to female pin connector. Without taking apart my washer for no reason, does anyone know if this washer (GFW550SSN1WW) has the open connector already installed and if I ordered the replacement light assembly, could I just plug it in would it work like the other units? I appreciate your time and feedback!

That I don't know, I don't have a wiring diagram for this model.

Yes, its best you don't take it apart under warranty to find out, that would not be wise and GE could void your warranty.
