The ice dispenser in our refrigerator has stopped dispensing ice. It is making plenty of ice. I pulled it out and it looks like water has dripped into the end of the auger and then froze. When I pulled the tray out some ice had formed under the tray in the back of the compartment in the same area as the back end of the auger. It seems like I need to figure out where the water is coming from (my guess). Suggestions?

At the back of the icemaker there is a tube where water enters the icemaker. See if there is ice in the tube and/or the funnel on the icemaker. If there is any ice in the tube or the funnel remove it. Report back what you find.

Thank you for the reply. I just checked it and the tube and funnel were both clear.

So either the icemaker is leaking or overfilling. The best advice i can give is to replace both the icemaker and the water valve. I just think it would be difficult to tell which one is causing the problem unless we saw the leak in real time.

I just took the ice maker out and it is freezing up in the very back of the tray. I am including two pictures, the second one being a zoom in of the area where the freeze seems to be taking place.

Does this provide helpful information to diagnose the issue?

I recurved a message that you responded but I do not see a response. If you did reply can you please repost?

I think the icemaker is leaking. Can you tell from the cube size if it is overflowing? I think the icemaker will fix it. If you think its overflowing replace the valve.

Yes, I agree with Shawn. Its likely the ice maker is overfilling itself, if the water valve was bad the water would keep running in at all times.

Here's the water inlet valve for your model:

There is a video in the water inlet valve part link that shows you how to replace it.

Let us know what you find.
