I've got a GE bottom freezer fridge unit that started tripping breakers this morning. It was cold, but now I can't get the compressor to kick on, so the failure was recent.

I've started troubleshooting:
I get 6-10 ohms across the compressor pins, all combinations
I got 5 ohms across the start relay bottom pin sockets

I measured ~12 volts AC across the orange & black wires. I assume these are the power wires to the start relay assembly.
** One boneheaded move was to disconnect the orange & black wires without making note of which went where on the relay. They will each fit on both posts. **PLEASE CLUE ME IN ON WHICH GOES WHERE** **

When I plug the fridge in, I hear a high pitch hum from the control board, a click somewhere after a few seconds, and then a flashing light @ R57. Other than that, I hear no fans running. The light comes on.

I did pull the technical manual from another post on this forum and am working through it. I probably need to have the start relay reinstalled before going too far, right?

I figured out the wiring connections. I was able to check the main voltage at the board per page 59 of the manual I attached the multimeter across J19-pin3 and J7-pin9. I got 120V.

I then checked the PTRC relay per Page 67. I attached the multimeter across J19-pin1 and J7-pin9. I did NOT get 120V, more like 1V. The voltage across the black and orange wires to the relay also checked at less than 10V.

There's nothing else in the section of the control board I saw as far as troubleshooting goes.

Edit:

I got into the Service Mode Tests, at which time the compressor kicked on before I got to select any particular test. No idea what happened to cause that. I ran the t2 & t4 tests with both passing. t9 is running now.

Edit 2: This looks like it'll be a running edit. I'm now about 10 minutes into the t9 test and the compressor kicked out. I heard a couple of clicks over the next minute or two, maybe from the start relay but not sure. I checked the voltages again across J19-1 & J7-9 and got 120V as before, but then checked across J19-3 & J7-9 and got 120V this time there also. No idea why the change.

As of this morning, it's running without issue on the original outlet. I don't know if I inadvertently "rebooted" going through some of the diagnostic testing.
