GSC25C4EYB01 Ice freezing around auger, then melting and forming puddle

I have two related issues:

1). My W11202789 is suddenly doing this thing where ice is melting around the auger in the in-door dispenser, then re-freezing into a blob (keeping the auger from turning and ice from coming out), then eventually melting, causing water to pour thru the ice chute to the point it overflows the reservoir tray in the door and puddles on the floor.
2). After trying to fix this for a few days, the augur motor is no longer working (perhaps I burnt it out or blew a fuse?).

Some FYIs:

• The refrigerator and freezer are working fine, both keeping their set temperatures.
• The ice maker itself is working fine. It's producing ice cubes without any problem.
• The ice chute is clear (have checked repeatedly)
• The chute door closing mechanism is working properly.

Can't understand why it would suddenly start doing this. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

#6 is the ice door, make sure you have no air coming through that.

The chute door closing mechanism is working properly.

The way I check it is get a flashlight and shine it down the ice dispenser chute from inside the door, then look on the front side of the door and see if you see light coming through.
