Hello.
I have started to hear a loud hammering noise when I dispenser water from my whirlpool refrigerator. It was working fine and I replaced a filter about 2 months ago. Sometimes it works fine, but 9 times out of 10, it makes noise. Sometimes, the noise stops midway when I am filling up my water bottle. Since it was working for a couple months after filter change, I assume air in the pipe is not an issue.... Also, the water comes out in bursts, in sync with the hammering noise.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Hi,

Here's another member that had this same problem and his uses the exact same water filter housing yours does:

This is what I mentioned to him below:
When you remove the water filter on this model it bypasses the filter housing, go ahead and remove the filter and see if it still does the water hammering.

If the water hammering noise stops with no filter in it, then the problem is the water filter housing.

Here's the water filter housing for your model:

Then you can see in his post #3 that was the problem.:)

Darn. How did I not find it when I searched?
Thanks though. Let me try this.

Glad to help, let us know how it goes.

Is there a video or something that shows how to install it?

Thanks.

Yes.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for video. It went well. My fridge had a cover on top of the filter housing. That threw me off a bit. However, I was able to remove the cover (it came in 3 pieces- 2 on the sides and one on the back that covered the filter). Once removed, it was just like the video.

Glad to hear that.(y)

Thanks for the update!
