GSH25JSXNSS Top frosting, ice maker frozen, ice cubes block of ice

One last try before throwing in the towel. Still frosting top two shelves and clump o ice. When I replaced the defroster elements, is there an associated timer/thermostat with this that could contribute? Wondering if defroster on too long, too often, too warm and that warm air is traveling up back to coils but is on too long and warming top ice and shelves as well?

The defrost cycle is integrated into the motherboard on this model, and its very expensive:

I wouldn't recommend spending almost $400 on this motherboard when you can buy a new refrigerator for $800 and up. But its up to you, if you love this refrigerator and can't do without, go for it.

Your GE made in March of 2010. The average life of refrigerators now is only 8-12 years, the good old days of 20 years are long gone unfortunately.

YEs, 10 yrs old. Its just bugging me at this point and feel like I should be able to figure it out ;^) Will probably need to let her go.
