GSS25LSTDSS: Water leaking in water dispenser but line is disconnected

I have disconnected the water from the fridge years ago. But for last month we had a bunch of water in the dispenser drip tray and under.
Since the water disconnected from the line (and there is no way that the dispenser leaking from an outside source) looks like something went bad?

That's a mystery to me as well, if the water to the refrigerator is off, it should not be leaking from the water dispenser.
