Hi all, this seems like a great resource!
So our GTW680BSJ4WS just this morning I noticed it would end the cycle very prematurely (within minutes). We got this back in early 2017... so it's only about 3 years old. During that time, no issues. We only use it about 2-3 times a week, and try not to overly load it. I found this thread from about 2 year ago that says the fix is this. When I go to that link and put in my model, it says it's incompatible though... so kinda confused.
Serial# AH958570G.
Really not looking forward to paying a tech who knows how much to come out and possibly not even fix the issue... according to GE's limited warranty, after the first year they just cover the cost of motor replacement, "if it should fail due to a defect in materials or workmanship. During this additional nine-year limited warranty, you will be responsible for any labor and related service costs."
Any help would be appreciated with this! Nothing like being stuck at home now with a washer full of wet clothes... at least we don't have to go anywhere too urgently! Thanks guys.
EDIT: After leaving unplugged for about 20 mins and trying again... it is spinning.
Is it possible this problem can be random and the software update is still recommended/needed? Obviously I don't want to have to gamble on if the washer will work or not day to day. Or is this a sign of other trouble? Obviously I still need to see if it will even complete this cycle... but it's so far functioning normally from what I can see.
