I have a 3 year old GE Top Loading Washer (Model GTW750CSL1WS) that will not finish spinning. It goes into "bALAnCINg" mode after doing the slower spin on every load no matter what is being washed. It then starts filling again with water to try & balance itself. I have put it in diagnostic mode & tested the spin cycle & it spins up to maximum speed with no problem but the manual does say that in the diagnostic mode there is no OOB (out of balance) detection.

So the washer is able to spin at high speed but is for some reason detecting an OOB condition. I have visually checked the suspension rods & they seem OK. The tub is not banging back & forth when it spins. Could it possibly be a speed sensor problem. I don't really want to start throwing lots of parts at it. Any ideas? Thanks.

It could be the speed sensor.

Here's the closest service manual I have for your model: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FiXXV68WvPZ4ukyUXtY7PGIV2C8bpVkK/view?usp=sharing

It shows you how to test it on page 62.

If the speed sensor tests good, the problem is most likely the control board.

Here's the control board for your model:
It will come with programming instructions.

Let us know how it goes.

Were you able to figure this out? Having the same issue with mine (same model).
I was able to fix mine by doing the following:

Tilt your washer (place a block underneath it) so you can see the motor & pulley (if you have detergent in the tank, you might want to use the flushing procedure to empty it before tilting the washer as it will flow all over the place when tilted). Take off the protective plastic cage surrounding the pulleys. I'll bet they are saturated in oil from the gear case. If they are, that causes them to slip.

I replaced the motor pulley (GE Part WH03X32217), the transmission pulley (GE Part WH03X32097) & the drive belt (GE Part WH01X24180). Both pulleys come with new self locking nuts. That fixed my issue.

I also replaced all four of the rod & spring assemblies that the tub hangs from. One of mine was slightly bent. The left ones are both yellow (GE Part WH16X26912) & the right ones are both black (GE Part WH16X26913). You may find that your rod & springs are OK. The total for all of the parts I listed is under $100. Best of luck with your repair.
