I own a Unique model UGP-30EOF1 oven/range. One of my burners on the range will not remain lit. I've replaced the thermocouple twice. And on the present thermocouple, I verified that it was putting out about 350 millivolts before I installed it, as recommended by the manufacturer. The burner flows gas great as long as you push in the valve. About 1 time out of 20, it'll stay lit on its own, but the other 19 times you're out of luck.

Now the manufacturer says I need to replace the valve, but they no longer sell the valve. They say their inventory is exhausted and they won't order any more because they no longer make that model appliance. I purchased it new on August 14, 2016, and now just 6.5 years later, it's no longer supported by the OEM. Their part number is UGP-HX09010028-A0.

I have been in contact with the OEM and expressed my frustration and disappointment with their lack of support, and inquired about any authorized service/sales locations I can call to inquire if those resellers have an inventory to check, and I've gotten nothing from them.

Does anyone know of a procedure to "rehab" a gas valve that won't stay on with proper thermocouple voltage, or know of a place that might have this model valve? I thank you in advance for your input.

I really doubt they're the actual manufacturer. Companies like that usually just put their name on some other manufacturer's products (often from China, sometimes Mexico). Dandy is maybe the most popular similar brand.

Ask Unique its actual part number and maybe whom actually made the range for Unique. It quite possibly was used on other brands and may be in stock at other suppliers. (While you're there, ask for an actual parts list for yours for the future.)

Also, there is a Unique Appliance just outside Toronto. You could try contacting them as well. The US and Canadian divisions might not have combined inventory and the other might have stock even if not in the USA.

I have no idea what you're referring to there. Most modern surface burner systems don't use any "thermocouple".

There is one company that I know that rebuilds gas valves as a business. If really needed but not available, try the following company.

Thanks for the help. I've inquired as to who supplied them with the valve, but Unique hasn't responded. Customer support is not this company's strong suit.
And I can't find the contact information for USA-based support, I've only contacted the Canadian location thus far.

All the burners on this model utilize a thermocouple to keep the valve open. It's designed for "off-grid" use without electricity. It uses batteries to power the igniters, and everything else is "old school" mechanical/thermostat controlled. It's been a real blessing in power outages as my wife can still cook anything under the sun without firing up a generator.

There are a number of brands that make battery operated, spark ignition gas ranges. (See the following link.) The Premier models are made in the USA and has more readily available service and parts. I have no idea where the Unique was made.
