I recently picked up a friends Samsung RFG297AARS/XAA and it won’t stay cold or reach optimal temperatures.
When I plug it in everything powers up, compressor kicks on, light on inverter board is solid red, 88/89 88 is the code but when I put it in diagnostic mode it goes awa and for a few hours the temperature drops toward optimal temperatures.
However after a few hours, compressor stops working and the light on the inverter board turns off. No blinking light or anything.
Is the compressor shot or would it be worth it to hunt down a replacement inverter board?
Any help with diagnosis would greatly be appreciated! Thank you!
