Turns out I need the selector switch for my Viking dual fuel oven. The part number is PJ030001. I spoke with Viking and they told me the part has been discontinued. The gentleman did say that there should still be some available. I’ve hounded eBay and other parts stores but no luck yet. If anyone has any ideas where else I could look would be much appreciated.

We are looking for the same part. Seems impossible to find. Seems crazy that this expensive range would be considered junk because you can’t get one part.
We just realize that when the certified Viking Oven Repair tech came out he did not remove the cover area around the selector switch. Is it a possibility that maybe one of the wires is loose or disconnected to the selector switch and that the selector switch itself is not broken?
I know it’s a longshot since basically none of it is working. It’s not as if certain functions work and certain ones do not.
I actually ordered this part from a supply company that said they did have it in stock waited a week and then we just got notification that they don’t have it.
Super frustrating! We looked up our model and it’s a $17,000 range. It’s this model with black and gold which matches our kitchen. We did not buy it, it was here when we purchased the home. There aren’t aftermarket parts for these things?

The tech did say it could also be the relay or both parts. We noticed when we turn the selector switch off now we hear a tiny bit of a buzzing, and I found in another forum that that can be from the relay.

i found a part and paid thru the nose for it. ebay has sold 8 of them in 2022, and i missed out on buying one on 12/12. there is a website that offers it but its a scam. hang in there

I just found it on the website and ordered it. Hoping not a scam! I did order one from seers parts direct and they showed it in stock and then a week later I got an email saying they don’t have the part. Now waiting for a refund.

Typo, Searspartsdirect.com

I will find it again, I cant recall but its a site that sells everything from gardening equipment to clothing. I googled the business address and it was a house in Southern California

Oh OK. That’s not what I ordered it from. It was a parts company and it’s pretty extensive on their website and I called them.

I was just texted by the company that I ordered it from saying that the parts sold Friday but their website had not updated yet. Unbelievable.. hoping it wasn’t a scam to get my credit card info

The more popular an appliance, the more replacement parts are manufactured for future service. Also, the better the chance of 'aftermarket' parts being produced when they're popular. I can't imagine too many $17,000 ovens were sold = fewer replacement parts.

It sounds like you don't even know if the selector switch is needed or not. I'd suggest you find that out for certain before going on a wild goose chase looking for parts.

We had an appliance person come out who does speak with Viking and does Repair and then we had a Viking repair guy from the Viking website come out who it doesn’t work on it before and they both think it’s a selector switch. The first guy said it could be the relay or both but the Guy from the Viking website said he checked the relay and it’s not the relay so it should be the selector switch.

You previously said:

I would assume proper testing might require that? "so it should be the selector switch " sounds like a guess to me. JMO

I'm afraid I have no idea where you'll find that discontinued switch.

Found out at 17 K because they selected the black door, gold handles, and knobs around, etc., convection with grill. Unfortunately it’s the combo gas and electric. I was told by Repair guys they are harder to fix that the all gas so much better.

I see a used switch was sold Dec.1, 2022, one Dec.31, 2022 and multiple in Oct. 2022.

If you click the "🤎 Save this search" at the following link, eBay will email you when new items matching the search terms become available. Maybe another will come up in the near future.

Not about to buy a new one or get rid of this one just because the selector switch isn’t working. So we’re just going to be without an oven indefinitely. Not ideal since I cook a lot, but hoping eventually we find part. It would seem if somebody had this model, and something else more major went. They’d be selling these parts off

I contacted everyone who has sold one on eBay until I found someone who had an extra one willing to sell-eventually it will come around, hopefully sooner than later

If you feel that you have benefited from this site, and would like to show your appreciation.
