Hello,

My name is Jake and I was hoping to get some help on an issue that I'm having with my Dryer. I currently have a Maytag HYE3460AYW. I'm not sure how old it is bc it is my landlord's and not my own.

They dryer had been running fine, with the lint filter cleaned after every use. My apartment is an older building, so in the basement the outlet is run from the panel, to a fuse box which contains an "on/off" switch to the outlet. Last week we stopped getting power to the outlet because a fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and the dryer was up and running without any hitches. This past weekend, I ran a blanket through the dryer on high. At the end of the cycle the blanket was still damp even though it was hot to the touch. I turned on the dryer for another cycle and went to bed. The next morning I woke up to a dead unit.

I don't get any power to the dryer, but I do have power to the outlet. I tried manually holding in the door switch on the dryer and still got no power. When I attempt to turn the dryer on there is no humming noise or even an attempt for the drum to turn. I'm thinking that this could be the High Limit Thermometer, the door switch, or the power cord going to the dryer. I'm leaning toward the high limit because of the temperature of the blanket when I touched it after running. Has anyone had any experience with this that they would be willing to lend a suggestion? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance! ;)

Jake

Fire hazard!

At the end of the cycle the blanket was still damp even though it was hot to the touch.
That usually happens if there is poor airflow through the dryer. The venting *all the way from the dryer to the outdoors* needs looking into and a *thorough* cleaning performed.

I turned on the dryer for another cycle and went to bed.
That is unwise! Dryers are a major source of house fires. They should never be used unattended... especially when they're showing signs of malfunction!

I don't get any power to the dryer, but I do have power to the outlet.
The internal thermal fuse has likely opened to try to prevent a dryer fire.

Get your landlord to look into the venting and then repair the dryer.
