Our ice maker stopped making ice and don't know what to test next. For starters the ice maker and ice bin is one that is in the door and has the electronic eyes to tell when the bin is full. I made sure nothing was blocking them and they are clean. Next I reached up into the unit to feel if the heater on the tray was warm but it was cold. I could feel ice in the tray however they were kinda small due to them just sitting there and not being ejected. To me that ruled out the water valve not working since the tray had ice in it. What do I test from next and how? Is there a way to bypass the eyes to see if they are the problem? OR a way to see of the icemaker heats up and extracts the ice that is there? My logic is telling me something is telling the unit not to dump the ice and therefore it wont make more. HELP!!!!

Hi,

This is a completely new design ice maker that I'm not familiar with as of yet.

But Another tech mentioned this: Find the tech sheet behind the toe grill...separate sheet to test the optics................Ice maker switch set to "ON" ????......Lift the ice maker door, close the optics door, (led will flash two times and repeat)......Push and release the light switch so light goes out and back on......do this about 30 times about 1 to 2 seconds apart....Ice maker should start to harvest if the optics are operating correctly....

Let us know the results.
