The inlet valve on my ASKO dishwasher started leaking, and I could not find one in stock.

The dishwasher was probably installed between 1982 and 1988. I had the control board replaced 10 or so years ago. It otherwise has always worked great. Or tell me the brand of a new dishwasher that will last 30+ years. :)

My question is: What do I need to take into account when fitting a different valve to my dishwasher?

The many types of replacements look very similar, and it's occurred me I might be able to find an exact replacement with a different number on it.

The valve seems to be very simple, it's closed until it gets power to open. So I'm planning to match:

1. inlet connection
2. outlet connection
3. current draw
4. expected voltage

Any guidelines for what 3 and 4 would be? I can't imagine they are vastly different between models, but checking anyway.

Thanks!

Hi,

Is there any part#'s on the old valve?

1. inlet connection
2. outlet connection
3. current draw
4. expected voltage
Mounting might be another consideration.
How many liters per minute flow. ( not all will say )

I have never had to worry about current/amp draw....but the voltage would have to be the same between the 2 of them.
