Replacing a 14 year old 1/2 HP Badger 5 disposal because it started leaking. Is this a common wear and tear issue with these units? I am asking because within weeks of each other, two of these models in separate rentals have developed cracks in the plastic housing of grinder. One on the front. And the second at the top of the drain outlet opening.

I would expect motor issues at 14 year but leaking issues are much more annoying due to it's silent nature and have caused significant damage to the cabinets.

Thanks !

That is strange, I've never seen that happen before.

Hopefully another tech. or member that's seen this happen can shed some light on it for us.
