FIXED Insinkerator difficult to turn in either direction

Insinkerator Evolution Compact disposal difficult to turn by hand in either direction. Is there a way to disassemble the unit in order to try to determine the exact cause of the problem. In the past when this happened I used a cordless impact with a 1/4" hex bit to get the impeller to turn free. It would be ok for awhile and then the problem would return.

No, it's better to just buy a new garbage disposal, especially after 10 years old.

One more question Jake, do I need to change the mounting flange that is installed in the sink if I'm going from Insinkerator Compact to Insinkerator Compact-3? I'm having difficulty getting the new disposal to engage the sink mounting flange?
