• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

We need to find a wiring diagram for a Magic Chef over the stove Microwave Model # MCO165UB? We found the other manuals online, however, we have not been able to find this one. We were given a 2019 model that was working when they uninstalled it, however it will not heat up now. We know to check out the voltages with the multi-meter, but also wanted to get the schematic to trace the wiring down in case of replacement or if something that was possibly jarred loose when uninstalling/transporting. Thank you.

There is a wiring diagram in every appliance when it leaves the factory. Have you tried looking for it? Other than that you could try contacting MC Appliance Corporation to see if they can supply an additional copy. (Just don't hold your breath).

BTW. They have nothing to do with Maytag/Whirlpool which own the Magic Chef brand name. They just license the name for products.

Thank you Dan, the microwave was given to us, and didn't come with any manuals. I believe we have found the issue. The diode isn't reading the right thing, so we have ordered this to see if that is a fix. All the other parts put out to specs.

The wiring diagrams are usually under the cover, inside the unit. I don't know specifically on that make. They don't often get misplaced. They're not with the owners manual, etc.

JFYI. You need a meter with a 9-volt battery to properly test a diode.

BTW. Rick posted a picture of how they can be tested using an external battery.
