Last night while the Potatoes were baking in the oven at 400 degrees, there was a pop noise and then the circuit breaker tripped.
Resetting the circuit breaker did nothing,..Range/oven was dead.
Range is Gas and electric combo. Model number: J2BP85SEL1SS.
After doing some research on the model, I did not have much to go on, so I took off the back panels and the drawer to look around.
First went to the control circuit board to see what fried but every component on the board appeared fine.
So I started by examining the power cord from the terminals on the plug to the entry point where it has in inline connector.
THIS CONNECTOR WAS FRIED!!! Melted and disintegrated. See photo attached.
The stove was not moved for years and therefore the connector was most likely loose not fully attached from the factory which made the electrical connection was not 100%,
I rewired the leads and everything worked as before.
