Jenn Air CVE4270B - larger heating element in rear goes to high when the small front burner is turned on

I replaced the control knob for the larger burner due to it going to max heat no matter what the setting. It did not fix the issue. After pulling the cartridge I could hear something loose inside. It was a support arm for the burner. I riveted back in place and it started working. However I discovered today that my larger heating element in rear goes to high when the small front burner is turned on.
It works correctly if I leave the front burner off. I am pretty sure I wired the control knob correctly. I could use some help on this one.....
