My Jenn-Air dishwasher does not automatically drain properly after washing. When I open the dishwasher there is always a pool of water at the bottom. If I select cancel/drain afterwards, it will complete the draining.

Any ideas?

Possibly its a faulty drain pump overheating, preventing it from draining in final drain.

At the last drain cycle before it goes into the dry cycle open the door and see if all the water is gone, if NOT then check your voltage with a multimeter at the drain pump electrical terminal wires, it should be 120 volts at the drain pump when its in the drain cycle. If you do get 120 volts and the drain pump is not running, then its bad.

Watch this video to access it, you may not have to pull the dishwasher out, look to see if you can access from the front underneath the dishwasher, behind the lower access most panel, on most models you can. Your Jenn-Air is made by Whirlpool corporation.

You can see the brown wires in the video to it, that's your electrical connector wires.

Here's the drain pump for your model:

Hi do you still have the service manual by any chance? I only have the French version left, but I couldn't read French. Would you mind take some pictures and share it with me?
