Greetings:
When we moved into our home we were happy knowing we would have an old reliable Jenn Air Range in our new kitchen! This model # S160, being in great working condition, comes with two working A100 cartridges (double electric burner elements). But since it's an older model range, I can't help wondering about the interchangeability with newer model Jenn Air cartridges. Do any other cartridges work in this range beyond the A100? How about different brands?
Specifically, I want to know if radiant cart model #s A120 or JEA8120 would work; Clearly, the cart size and connections for the new cartridges seem identical, but I just want to make sure they would WORK. Upgrading this otherwise great range by buying replacement radiant carts would be a lot cheaper and easier than replacing the range.
As the contact assemblies on the newer cartridges do not always match those on older carts, if the newer carts fit the range but don't work, I suspect a minor wiring change could adapt the newer cartridge to the older range. Is there a change that a technician can make on a newer cartridge to make it work in this older range?
Stay healthy and thank you!
