Hi everyone,
So I have a Jenn-Air W188 wall oven. Last night, after doing some cooking (on the convection bake, at a reasonable temperature), I walked into the kitchen and noticed my oven read "LOCK" and was producing a lot of heat. I opened the door and, lo and behold, it was both unlocked at an unsafe temperature (580 degrees according to the control panel), and the broiler element was glowing bright red. I flipped off the breaker and left it for a while, then turned it on again this morning and it seemed to work fine. We used the oven again to bake, and it appeared to work. However, later today, it once again said "LOCK" and the broiler was heating up. I had read online that this could be something to do with a stuck relay. However, I know nothing about how ovens work and I don't know which relay might be broken or how to fix it.
Has anyone heard of this issue before? I know the oven is old, and so the parts might be discontinued, but if anyone has any advice on how to fix it, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
Zack
