Jenn Air Wall Oven With Fault Code 1

I have a 1992 Jenn Air wall oven model W131W, serial number 13878402KM.

I am having the following problems: F1 with beeping, usually following a baking period. Oven is not reaching the desired bake temperature even after manually adjusting the temperature the maximum 35 degrees.

I have tested the oven (temperature) sensor and it is about 1110 ohms at room temperature.

From what I have seen, this problem is variously identified as the touch pad, the oven sensor or the ERC (clock).

Any suggestions as what to try or test to narrow the problem to a specific, hopefully single, part?

Thanks,

AFH

Hi,

Might help....a copy:

How to test many brands of Ranges that are flashing a F1 fault code: You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.
  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.
    * We have seen a few of the newer Maytag ranges with a F1 fault code and the problem was the oven temp sensor, check carefully the wires to and from the oven temp sensor!!

Thanks.

I am running that test now. I say running because it sometimes takes several hours for the F1 and beeping to occur. If it happens, it will probably be at about 1 am again!:)

Over 24 hours on the "test" and no F1 OR beep. Unless there is another suggestion I gUess I will try ordering a toucH pad and see if that will fix it.

Will the test work for a Jenn Air Model SCE30600B which exhibits similar symptoms?

(When we cook the oven turns itself off, locks itself closed, and flashes F1 and beeps.)

I disconnect the touch panel and let it run for a couple of hours, the locking and unlocking of the door stop and the F1 plus beeping did not show up, but the fan ran the whole time. So under these condition would the best shot be to replace the touch panel first??

Tnks in advance,
Mr. G

Unfortunately is sounds like two problems :(
If mine, ( will be $ ) I'd go both the key panal and probably the relay board. Fan still running kinda sounds like a relay is welded closed or such.

JMO!
