Hi,
I just purchased a service manual for the range and it is from year 2006. My range was purchased in 2010. Is there a new version of the service manual? I am on my 3rd control board with first one replaced under warranty and would like to know what is the latest control board EOC-II or EOC -III nd the associated software version?

My new control board shows no error codes and all panel buttons work, but the issue I am having is that the bake temperature is about 40F lower then it should be. I changed the temp sensor with new Whirlpool unit #12001656 and checked the sensor resistance against the numbers in the service manual and they match. After BAKE 350F - PREHEAT is done with beep the temperature shows the set number, but my oven thermometer shows ~40defF lower temperature.

When I push the "Cancel Button" and the push "Bake Button" and set the temperature again the unit goes to PREHEAT and the temperature on the display agrees with my thermometer being ~40degF lower and starts to preheat again to 350F and beeps when it reaches the set temperature. I tried the TEMP OFFSET feature but in only goes +/-25F and it does not eliminate the issue.

I called Jenn-Air factory and they told me that this behavior is normal as the oven temp variations are around 25degF. If the variations is as large as they say what is the point of having temperature setting granularity down to 1degF on the keypad??

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware in the control board to the latest version? These boards are made in Mexico by Diehl Controls and they do not provide any diagnostic info on them so I wonder if this behavior is a factory design issue hidden from the consumer. Any help on resolving my issue very much appreciated.

After BAKE 350F - PREHEAT is done with beep the temperature shows the set number, but my oven thermometer shows ~40 deg F lower temperature.

Many manufacturers these days have designed their controls to not preheat an oven to the full set temperature. They claim it is not needed (which could be true but is more likely IMO for reduced power consumption ratings in literature).

the issue I am having is that the bake temperature is about 40F lower then it should be.

Even after the preheat is done?

Manufacturers recommend testing the oven temperature only after the oven has cycled 4-5 times.

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware in the control board to the latest version?

I doubt it. I have no idea how you'd go about it if it was even possible.
