This freezer doesn't get cold enough. It hovers right around 32. It is turned all the way down. I am currently looking for the damper. Where is it located and how do I get to it?

Evap thermistor also failed self test. Listed as open.

We have a large amount of frost build up in freezer as well.

Also just did self check on freezer/evap fan. Fan too slow. Checked voltages and found second set that should be 8 to 14 reading 0. Is the second reading a tach from the fan? Therefore fan isn't moving?

Any ideas on what to check first?

Do I need to pull unit out if cabinet or can all this be checked and repaired from front?

Hi,

Where is the frost build-up located? On the back panel inside the freezer?

Parts for Jenn-Air JS42CSDBDA: Evaporator Compartment Parts

#16 is the thermistor

#23 is the damper

The evaporator fan motor in the freezer should be getting 12 volts DC at all times when its running. Since it is not, the problem is the DC power supply board.

Here's the DC Power Supply Board for your model you can order:
WP67001360 Supply, Power
