• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

A friend gave me a Sharpe R2009KKW microwave. Works great but for one thing. The lcd display works correctly, no dead segments, but there seems to be no backlight.

Read through the online manual but didn't see anything in reference to it. It may just the way it is built but if there is something I can replace, i can do it.

Maybe it is built without a backlight but I doubt that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe
