The dishwasher model KDFE104DWH2 has not been washing properly. It seemed the only way to get water to spray was using the Express Wash mode. Opening the door during normal cycles shows very little water in the pan and did not ever hear spraying. Express Wash would usually have spraying (though opening the door still showed very little water in the pan).

After running a test cycle I believe the error code reported was 7-1. After running a test cycle all lights just shut off (and the cycle took way less than the 23 minutes mention in the service booklet). On starting another test cycle it shows the error 7-1. I am not sure if that is how to get the error code, but it is the best I have achieved.

7-1 relates to the heating element. Would that affect the low water level or did the low water level cause the heating element error?

Thanks

The control will disable the heater if it detects a water heating issue and logs the 7-1 error for "No Heat". Check the element for continuity. Check for pinched or broken wires between the control and the element.

Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last run information from memory and restores defaults.

It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle.

Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between key presses.

The service diagnostics cycle will start when the door is closed.

The service diagnostics cycle has 26 intervals and takes about 23 minutes.

The diagnostic cycle starts on interval 26 and ends on interval 1

Interval 26 turns on all LEDs immediately upon receiving the entry sequence (even if the door is open) for 5 seconds as a display test. Then turns off all the LEDs for 1 second before the next interval.

Intervals 25-24-23-22 are for error codes. A tone will play when “Service Error 1” is displayed.

Interval 21- Press the "HI TEMP" key to clear all error codes.

Intervals 20 -turns on the "Clean" LED if vent current is detected.

Intervals 19 - 3 is the diagnostic cycle

Intervals 2 and 1 are for error codes found during the diagnostic cycle.
