I'm so glad I found this forum. It seems like there's pretty straight forward advise coming from knowledgeable people.

My unit is a kitchenaid KDTE104DSS0

The diagnostic cycle starts of with these error codes:
3-4
8-1
6-4

So far it seems pretty clear I need to test the voltage to the inlet valve. There should be 120v getting to it.

Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to narrow down a diagnosis?

Thanks!

Hi,

What is your dishwasher doing or not doing?

When you start a new cycle does it start to fill with water at all?

3-4 is non-existent per the tech data sheet. Are you sure its not 4-3?

I'm attaching your tech data sheet below.

Yeah, the 3-4 code is really happening.
Here's the video of the 3-4 error code.

The dishwasher does fill with water when running a normal cycle, the heater element works also, no washing occurs. There's no pressure though to spray the dishes. It doesn't seem to be getting water to the top spinner deal. The drain works though to get the water out.

The error codes it's giving at the beginning of the diagnoses cycle are:
3-4, 8-1, 6-4.

Got it! Thanks

It's most likely a bad wash motor, this has become a common problem as of late, many members here have reported the same. In fact I had 2 in Sept. 2018 in Parker, Arizona that did the exact same thing, and the new wash motor fixed them both.:)

Look at post #7 here:

I'd first check to see if your getting 120 volts to the wash motor when it should be in the wash cycle. His Kenmore 665 is made by Whirlpool which owns KitchenAid, and uses the exact same wash motor yours does.

Take the wire connector off the wash motor and use your multimeter to see if yours is getting 120 volts when it should be washing, if so and it's not running order the wash motor below.

Here is the wash motor assembly you can order:

Here's the video to replace it:

FIXED!

The new washer motor came and it took about an hour to pull out the only one and replace it with the new one.

Everything is running smoothly now with no more error codes.

Thank you Jake!
