Hello,

Thankyou for letting me join your forum.

I have a kitchenaid KDTE204EWH that was purchased in July of 2017. Has worked fine until now.

It leaves water in the bottom when its finished.

But will pump out if I hit the cancel/drain button.

I have cleaned the filters.

I have turned the power off to the unit and tried it after that.

Does anyone have a pointers here.

The only thing different is that it is in a cottage and is drained in the fall. It started this in the spring when the water was turned on. If that is relevant.

Thank you

Hi,

We need the complete model number first. The model number tag is located inside the door on the tub frame.

It should be one of these below:
KDTE204EWH0
KDTE204EWH1
KDTE204EWH2
KDTE204EWH3
KDTE204EWH4

Where does this dishwasher drain line hook up to? Underneath the sink directly to your sink plumbing? To a air gap first then to the plumbing? To the garbage disposal?

Hi Jake, I wont be with the machine again until tomorrow morning.

But this is from the receipt.

Kitchenaid 24" Fully Integrated Dishwasher
Mod# KDTE204EWH- White
Ser# F71801168

It connects directly to the kitchen drain above the trap. No air gap. No garbage disposal. Trap is clean.

It worked fine for over a year with this install.

I still need that last digit.:) When you get back to your dishwasher, please post it.:)

I'm also going to need you to stay with the dishwasher for the whole cycle and when it does its first drain see if all the water is gone from the tub, just open the door after the first drain.

How will I know when it does its first drain?
You will hear the wash motor stop, and then the drain motor will start and you should hear it draining into your sink plumbing.:)
