Hi,
I notice this is a familiar topic on the blog. I have a KitchenAid DW; Model # KDTM404ESS3; Serial # F94360128. Manufactured in 2019. In the beginning, the dishwasher was washing poorly and it appeared the lower spray arm was not moving. Water was being sprayed out of the lower washarm. I also noticed the diverter motor moving as I had marked the plastic cap on the inside of the dishwasher to keep track. Because of that, I replaced the washarm but that did not solve the issue.
I then returned to replace the diverter motor. At first it leaked water through the diverter motor shaft so I reinstalled with more application of the sealant. Then there were no leaks and the wash arm worked and dishes washed well again. 2+ months later the washarm is not moving again and dishes are poorly washed. Currently water is not dripping down as it did for me when I initially installed it. I will continue to monitor that.
Would you recommend another diverter motor install paying special attention to O-ring and sealant? I know some techs replace the whole pump/motor assembly. Is this the best next step?
